Jerome “JD” DiMenna III began his legal career as a litigation associate at Silver & Kelmachter, LLP in New York City, primarily working with victims of medical malpractice and personal injury. During this time, he developed a reputation for crafting and then implementing legal strategies that brought personalized results for his clients.

Eventually, others began to take notice of his ability to solve complex problems in an efficient and creative manner. JD expanded these talents being named Vice President of Citibank’s anti-money laundering unit where his duties included the management of an investigatory team responsible for identifying and reporting suspicious retail bank account activities engaged in terrorist financing, human trafficking, money laundering and fraud. As his reputation for protecting corporations’ financial interests grew, he began realizing that he missed the personal interaction of helping individuals and believed it was time to refocus his critical eye to helping people protect and grow their wealth. After all, the whole reason he became a lawyer was to help people.

Taking the next step in his career he began transitioning back into private practice, specializing in wealth preservation, business development, and estate planning. He reached out to other professionals to help develop his new practice and was quickly recognized by Wiley Etter, LLC as a rising star. Wiley Etter, LLC identified that anyone who could vigorously protect a corporation would have the necessary firepower to advocate for families and small business owners.

With JD, you find a talent and ability to look three steps ahead from a unique corporate as well as personal perspective. This makes JD a force to be reckoned with. While JD’s focus has always been on crafting complex legal strategies, he now uses this talent to develop complex and specialized trusts to shield his clients from unwanted creditors and ensure that their wealth can safely grow.

He currently resides in Fairfield with his wife Regan where he enjoys golfing, boating, and anything else that involves soaking in the sun.

As an immigrant from the former Soviet Union, I have experienced life under a legal system that does not allow for the individual to grow their own net worth. As a physician in the USSR, my mother made less money than a cab driver. Wishing for a better life we immigrated to America. I watched my mother scrape and claw as every other American small business person slowly develop a widely successful practice. The impression her accomplishment left on me was significant. Watching her triumph over small business obstacles is why I became a property attorney. I want my clients to be successful, I want them to have a better life. It sounds tacky but I truly believe in the American dream. Knowing firsthand how bad it can get really brings a sense of importance to properly taking advantage of the programs and systems created by the laws of the United States of America and the State of Connecticut. We are lucky to be Americans and we are entitled to the privileges!

What I have learned is, success comes through good planning. In financial, wealth planning, and life in general, we are rewarded for thinking ahead. My mother knew she could provide a better life for her family working as a Doctor in the U.S. My client’s find that I have that same trait. I practice what I preach. While in law school, I worked at a well-established three partner law firm accumulating as much knowledge as I could. I zealously prepared for the Bar Exam passing with flying colors. The culmination of my hard work ended in me starting my first law firm. The first two years were difficult with many barriers to overcome. But I persisted. Now, I am part of a successful two partner law firm, own several small businesses, and am a key member of Wiley Etter, LLC as the Real Property lead Attorney. Like my client’s I am just a small business owner seeking out my dreams.

It’s all about what you love. Everything in my life has led me up to this one moment. I believe I am the right attorney to advice you and your family through complex business transactions, estate planning, and help you acquire property. I am passionate about helping everyone reach the dreams just as if they were my own. That’s the funny thing about dreams, with each goal I surpass in my own life, my aspirations continue to grow. My client’s are fortunate to enjoy the same experience with me as their lawyer.
